Description
Reaposibilities:
• Support and enforce project execution in compliance with MEMR Project Management System Standard (PMS-1000-STD) at shipyards and suppliers/ OEM sites.
• Follow up yard management system, Project schedules and shipyard schedules.
• Monitor and verify asset construction quality control activities performed on site and report status to the Project Quality Manager and liaison with Project Manager.
• Monitor application of asset detailed construction specifications according to approved technical drawings.
• When required support the project in Class surveys planning, preparation, implementation and follow up survey execution and review survey reports.
• Verify Yards progresses in incoming material inspection activities.
• Monitor and verify yard manpower QC workmanship and provide support to align with project specifications.
• Accountable for follow-up of all technical performance of the Yard/ Supplier/ Supplier/ OEM in the execution of the project during:
• Construction verification of QC schedule, material verification, witness of performed quality control activities.
• Installation – integration strategy of the unit, systems, subsystems, and components (verify designed unit/system interface requirements and acceptance criteria before integration).
• Acceptance – verify and witness material test, NDT, and FATs (mechanical completion and commissioning process).
• Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers by ensuring effective onsite communication and understanding between involved organizations.
• Observe and support team to enforce the Safety Culture and HSE Project objectives.
• Participate actively in preventive safety action and ensure appropriate investigation of safety incidents.
• Perform any other duties as directed by the Project Manager and Project Quality Manager.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge and experience with aluminum, steel shipbuilding and GRP/ FRP lamination processes
• Preferably with NDT operation knowledge and experience. NDT Qualification Level II/III will be an added advantage
• Welding inspector certification would be an added advantage
• Management skills to liaison with vendors and managing teams on site
• Ability to work independently and with autonomous decisive capabilities
• Proactive, innovative with excellent intercommunication skills, internal and external
• Thorough, flexible with teamwork ability and work in a multiculture environment
• Experience with welding inspection in ship building with experience over 5-10 years
• Experience with NDT operation supervision in ship building with experience over 5-10 years
• Shipbuilding QAQC supervisory and surveillance professional experience 5 to 10 years
• Proficient in verification of quality weld inspection, machinery installation, outfitting and electrical installation in shipbuilding
• Experiences with modern automated shipbuilding technology and construction methods (GRP infusion and lamination process)
