Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial strategy and operations of large, high-value projects with complex compliance, reporting, and funding structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing multimillion-dollar budgets across highly regulated and strategically critical initiatives, ensuring financial integrity, performance, and long-term sustainability.
This is a key executive role responsible for driving fiscal discipline, risk management, and operational efficiency across all phases of major projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the organization’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and project delivery requirements.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation for large-scale, mission-critical projects.
- Ensure robust financial oversight and compliance with large-project contracting standards, audit requirements, and cost-accounting regulations.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership, project managers, and compliance teams to maintain financial discipline throughout the lifecycle of each project.
- Monitor and manage project expenditures, cost controls, and funding drawdowns to ensure performance targets are met.
- Lead financial due diligence, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for all major initiatives.
- Present financial updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive stakeholders and board members.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team capable of supporting complex, multi-year projects under strict accountability frameworks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent financial certification strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years overseeing large and highly regulated projects.
- Expertise in large-project contracting, cost accounting standards, compliance audits, and financial controls.
- Strong command of financial systems, project accounting tools, and ERP platforms.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience supporting sensitive, mission-critical programs under strict confidentiality.
- Familiarity with contract vehicles such as IDIQs, cost-plus, fixed-price, or T&M.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments with multiple stakeholders.
