Description

Position Objective

The Head of Asset Management is responsible for leading the firm’s asset management strategy, ensuring superior investment performance, and driving product development in alignment with market trends and client needs. The role oversees portfolio management, fund operations, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on delivering consistent alpha generation and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.


Key Responsibilities

1. Investment Strategy & Portfolio Oversight

  • Formulate and lead the execution of the company’s investment strategy across asset classes including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
  • Supervise the management of discretionary portfolios, public funds, and private investment vehicles.
  • Ensure disciplined investment decision-making, underpinned by sound research and risk-adjusted return targets.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement tactical asset allocation as needed to align with client objectives and market conditions.

2. Product Development & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to launch new investment products that meet regulatory, market, and investor needs.
  • Oversee the structuring, approval, and rollout of funds such as public equity funds, multi-asset funds, and money market products.
  • Continuously evaluate product performance and recommend enhancements or strategic repositioning.

3. Client Engagement & Business Growth

  • Act as a key representative for the firm in external client interactions, industry events, and investment forums.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to strengthen client acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Contribute to firmwide strategic planning by providing market insights and investor feedback.

4. Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance

  • Implement robust risk management frameworks covering investment, operational, and market risks.
  • Ensure full adherence to CMA regulations and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with compliance, risk, and legal departments to proactively manage regulatory changes and audits.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CME-4 (mandatory), CFA, CA, or CFMP (preferred).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in asset management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in portfolio construction, fund structuring, and investment analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi capital markets and international investment practices.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and risk governance.
  • Established network with institutional clients, HNWIs, fund managers, and regulatory bodies.
