Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role will combine advanced accounting responsibilities with supervisory and mentorship duties, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to both the accuracy of our financial reporting and the development of our accounting staff. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of managing and mentoring junior accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits.
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
- General Ledger Management:
- Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
- Management & Supervision:
- Supervise, mentor, and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by junior staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Delegate tasks effectively and monitor team performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to junior staff.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Document accounting procedures and workflows.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similar.
- 7-10 + years of progressive accounting experience, with at least [Number] years in a senior accountant role.
- Proven experience in supervising and mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
